Students who are about to enter the working world are inundated with career advice, and the reality is, much of it is conflicting. You’re told to be regimented about your career development plan but not to over-engineer it. Gain specific skills for the industry that you’re interested in, but make sure to stay well-rounded. In today’s business environment, where companies and industries are becoming increasingly matrixed, it’s hard to tell which way is up.
We all measure success differently — whether it’s the size of our paycheck, becoming a manager or getting a promotion. No one has all of the answers, but mentorship, research and six years of on-the-job training at Microsoft have helped Rakhi navigate through how to manage her career. Join Rakhi Voria ’11, the Senior Business Manager and Chief of Staff to Microsoft’s Corporate Vice President of Inside Sales, for this informative session on how to approach career planning on December 12th. Hope to see you there!
