On Wednesday, April 3rd, Microsoft’s Alok Sharma will join Colorado College students and the community to speak on “The Value of a Liberal Arts Education in a Global Job Market.” This event is sponsored by the Colorado College Education Department.

Sharma is a highly motivated technology leader with 12+ years of experience in designing, architecting and managing complex software solutions across major market segments. He is known for his creative and growth mindset in the organization, and has proven his ability to ideate, innovate, and build tools to drive productivity. Sharma is a regular speaker and presenter at technical conferences, and recent talks have emphasized leadership and empathy. He enjoys motivating and mentoring high-performing professionals and has received multiple prestigious awards for excellence at work.
Sharma earned his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Information Technology from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, India, and his Master’s of Sciences in Software Systems from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, in Pilani, India, before moving to the USA. He joined Microsoft as an intern and has grown into one of Microsoft’s esteemed software architects.
