Financial Analysis Division
The Congressional Budget Office is a small nonpartisan agency that provides economic and budgetary analysis to the Congress. CBO’s Financial Analysis Division is seeking an Assistant Analyst. The division develops financial models to estimate the cost of credit and insurance programs and to forecast financial variables such as stock prices, interest rates, and housing market variables. The division also produces research reports about financial issues affecting the federal government, collaborating with a large network of academic and industry specialists.
The Assistant Analyst will support the division’s financial modeling and research by gathering data from many sources, merging those data into databases, conducting literature reviews, and collaborating with economists on research and written reports. The analyst will also interact extensively with others in legislative and executive branch agencies and at research institutions.
