The Governor’s Energy & Environment Fellowship seeks to develop the next generation of energy & environment leaders in Colorado, reflecting academic and geographic diversity, who can be empowered through experiential learning to impact positive change across sectors. This is an unpaid opportunity, with a Fall/Spring program designed for graduate and professional students and a Summer program that is also open to advanced undergraduates. Fellowships offer a placement in either the Governor’s Office or a State Agency. Recent graduates and energy & environment professionals seeking government experience are also encouraged to apply.
Fellowships will be offered within the Colorado Governor’s Office (Legal Counsel, Legislative Affairs, and Policy & Research) and State Agencies (Department of Agriculture, Department of Local Affairs, Department of Natural Resources, Department of Public Health and Environment, Office for Outdoor Recreation, and Colorado Greening Government Initiative). Applicants located outside of the Front Range may have the opportunity to be based instead at regional offices.
