After graduation, Laurelle will move to Cincinnati to begin her Master of Health Services Administration at Xavier University.
I’m excited about this opportunity because I finally get to learn in depth about the field I am passionate about. The field of Health Administration is mostly dominated by white men so as the immigrant black queen that I am, I’m super excited to enter that space and own it. I am hoping to learn how I can contribute toward making healthcare accessible to everyone, especially minorities.
My advice is, start preparing for the GRE early and getting in contact with admissions staffs early so you know exactly what they are looking for. Your interactions with the people will inform you about the type of environment you’ll be going into and if that’s a good fit for you.
Congratulations, Laurelle!
