Mountain Design Assembly is a community design/build program run by McLeod Kredell Architects in the Green Mountains of Vermont. Applications are due March 1.
MDA brings together a team of students and architects for eight intensive days to live in a rugged, remote environment while designing and building a project in a rural community. The program is open to students from all colleges and universities, and no experience with design or construction is necessary. Student participants experience a real-world project, hands-on learning, and a professional externship with the firm.
As in 2020, the program will operate in compliance with any and all COVID guidelines that may be in place at the time. Applicants should be willing to wear masks and practice other safety measures, should it be necessary.
Program details, and past projects are available at www.design-assembly.org.
