According to the Environmental and Energy Study Institute (EESI), in 2020, nearly 4.1 million jobs in the United States alone were directly related to climate mitigation. These jobs represent a crucial workforce tackling climate change. The Global Warming Mitigation Project is proud to connect young people with organizations that have been proven to mitigate climate change; kickstarting climate careers and creating a tangible impact around the world. The Constellations program works diligently to connect students with virtual internships in our global network of climate organizations.
As the launch of Spring 2022 Constellations commences, I am happy to announce that the Global Warming Mitigation Project received 47 applications spanning 11 internship opportunities. These opportunities include a Data Science position at CLIP.bike, an Environmental Justice Communications and Development position at The Forestry and Fire Recruitment Program (FFRP), and a National Operations position at Our Climate, to name just a few. To read more about the Constellations program, you can visit our website.
Lastly, The Global Warming Mitigation Project just launched our 2022 Keeling Curve Prize applications and are currently hiring analysts to help us review the applications we receive. This is a great opportunity for MA/PhD students to gain experience in the climate space! Details on compensation, preferred qualifications, and application directions can be found in the attached PDF.
