The end of the academic year means we’re nearing the end of construction on the new library.

Library staff and the book collections will begin moving into the new library building Monday, June 12. If you’re on campus this summer, come celebrate the return of the books at a “soft opening” of the new library Monday, June 19, at 3 p.m.

Get to know the new space: The second floor is the hub for academic support services, housing the Colket Center for Academic Excellence, the Quantitative Reasoning Center, the Writing Center, English as a Second Language, thesis support, the First-Year Experience Office, the Crown Faculty Center, Mellon-funded pedagogy researcher, and several research librarians. The floor features open, interactive spaces, where students and faculty can consult with professional staff and each other. It’s a place dedicated to all aspects of the activity of learning.

The library is now observing interim hours through Tuesday, May 30, and is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. through the end of this week. Summer Session hours begin Wednesday, May 31. Remember to return books to the Circulation Desk or the book drop at the east entrance. Continue to use the red “Request” button in the TIGER catalog to request items.
