10/1: Underwater Basket Weaving in Real Life: How the Block Plan Prepared Me for Entrepreneurship

Join Uli Nasibova ’06, founder of Gelateria Uli, to hear about her experience being a food entrepreneur in Los Angles and how the unique structure of the Block Plan prepared her to handle the challenges of opening a business in a big city with no prior experience in food production or retail industries.

Uli is originally from Baku, Azerbaijan and was an international student at Colorado College, majoring in French Literature and Mathematical Economics. She left her successful career at a premier Wall Street research and investment management firm to open a small-batch gelato shop in the heart of Los Angeles in 2014. Several years later, Gelateria Uli has two locations and has been named “Best Gelato” by the Los Angeles Magazine.
