The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum is currently accepting applications for remote fall 2021 internships in departments across the institution. The fall 2021 Internship Program will begin on Monday, October 4 and end on Friday, December 10. Fall internships require a commitment of 20 hours per week for the full ten weeks, including attendance at Museum Culture Seminars (MCS). The experience will be completely virtual. No onsite work at the museum or its offices is expected. Remote fall 2021 internships are paid opportunities.
The objective of the Guggenheim Museum Internship Program is to provide practical training experience to students interested in pursuing careers in the arts and museum fields. Interns gain a broad understanding of how a particular department functions within the context of a major museum, as well as specific knowledge and skills related to that department’s activities. Interns are assigned to one department for the duration of their training, based on qualifications and interest. Under the supervision of designated staff mentors, interns complete individual projects, attend meetings, and participate in ongoing conversations and processes within their department. For a list of departments that offer internships, please see: www.guggenheim.org/internships.
