GS390: Grant Writing Adjunct Blocks 1-4

 

Are you interested in nonprofit work? Or have you ever wanted to improve your chances of scoring a Ritt Kellogg grant? Now’s your chance! Sign up for Roy Jo Sartin’s Grant Writing adjunct this fall.

The adjunct is a pass/fail class that counts for a half-credit, and meets on Tuesdays from 3:30-4:45pm in Blocks 1-4. There is no class during fourth week.

In  GS390, students will write two grants from start to finish: a Venture Grant of their own design, and a Life of the Mind grant for a student group or organization.The course is designed to help students hone skills including addressing a specific audience, designing grant project components, and writing persuasive arguments.

The strategies you learn – including thinking about the applicant’s goals and the funder’s expectations as you justify your project’s goals and methods – are applicable to all types of writing you will do at CC and beyond, from senior theses and applications to business memos and reports. Learn a
