After graduation, Atiya is headed home to Washington D.C. to become a Resident Teacher for Urban Teachers. Through this program, she’ll earn a Master’s of Science in Education from Johns Hopkins University and a certification in elementary and special education through Urban Teachers.
I’m excited to get the opportunity to go back to home and help teach and inspire our next generations, especially those in underserved elementary schools. I’m hoping to learn how to be the best teacher possible.
My advice for students looking for opportunities: As you continue your job search, know that having Colorado College on your resume truly means something, so use it to your advantage. Current students and alumni should definitely take advantage of the Career Center because they are here to help us get #hired.
If you want to be featured with #hired or #gradschoolbound, you can connect with us on:
Facebook: Like our page, then post what you’re up to this summer on our wall with #hired or #gradschoolbound. Include your name, class year, title/company or name of school/program, and a picture!
Instagram: Follow us, then post your picture with the info above and #hired or #gradschoolbound, and tag us @cc_career_center.
Or email us!
Just tell us your title and organization, and why you chose your internship, position, or grad/professional program; what you are most excited about or hoping to learn through this experience; and any advice you have for other CC students as they continue their internship or job search.
