History Colorado Internships and Fellowships

History Colorado is committed to providing hands-on learning and career experience through our internship program. Interns have the opportunity to work closely with museum professionals on a variety of projects to gain practical training in museum work.

Interns are assigned to museum departments based on the department’s need and the educational background, experience, and interests of the intern. Departments that have offered internships in the past include: Education, Archives, Collections & Library Services, Photography, Marketing, Public Relations, Production & Design, Exhibits, Development, Human Resources, Accounting, State Historical Fund, Grant-Humphreys Mansion, Byers-Evans House Museum, El Pueblo History Museum

History Colorado welcomes internship candidates that are college level students, recent graduates, graduate students, postgraduates, and professionals.

Women’s History Fall FellowshipHistory Colorado is seeking three recipients for its Center for Colorado Women’s History Fall Fellowship. We invite scholars, activists, artists, musicians and writers who are engaged in the expansion and expression of knowledge to help inform the understanding of women in Colorado’s history, specifically through the interdisciplinary lens and methodologies of women’s studies, gender studies, and/or race and ethnic studies. Fellows will have workspace at the Center for Colorado Women’s History at the Byers-Evans House Museum and receive a stipend.

History Colorado Collections Diversity Fellowship: Interested in a career in museums?  Curious about how collections are used to engage the public?  Want to earn extra funds while building your resume?  This program encourages you to explore a career in museums while learning about collections care and the ways in which collections and curatorial staff work to increase access to the collection.

Trinidad History Museum Creative in Residence: With Trinidad’s emergence as a thriving arts community, Trinidad History Museum is providing a space for artists to create and share their talent with the community.
