- Hedgebrook Writers in Residence: The Writers in Residence Program is Hedgebrook’s core program, supporting the fully-funded residencies of approximately 40 writers at the annual retreat. Hedgebrook is on Whidbey Island, about thirty-five miles northwest of Seattle. Situated on 48 acres of forest and meadow facing Puget Sound, with a view of Mount Rainier, the retreat hosts writers from all over the world for residencies of two to four weeks. / Due September 12, 2022
- Miller Research Fellowship: The Miller Institute for Basic Research in Science at UC Berkeley invites department chairs, faculty advisors, professors, and research scientists at institutions around the world to submit online nominations for Miller Research Fellowships. The Miller Institute seeks to discover and encourage talented researchers, and to provide them with the opportunity to pursue their research on the Berkeley campus. Miller Research Fellowships are intended for scientists who have recently been awarded, or who are about to be granted, the doctoral degree to pursue a topic in basic sciences through interdisciplinary research. These 3-year fellowships offer an annual salary of $65K. / Due September 12, 2022
- Hodder Fellowship: The Hodder Fellowship is given to writers and non-literary artists to pursue independent projects at Princeton University during the academic year. Potential Hodder Fellows are writers, composers, choreographers, visual artists, performance artists, or other kinds of artists. Given the strength of the applicant pool, most successful Fellows have published their first book or have similar achievements in their own field. Provides a stipend of $75K. / Due September 12, 2022
- Princeton Arts Fellowships: Princeton Arts Fellowships are awarded to artists whose achievements have been recognized as demonstrating extraordinary promise in any area of artistic practice and teaching. Applicants should be early career poets, novelists, choreographers, playwrights, designers, performers, directors, filmmakers, composers, and performance artists. Princeton Arts Fellows spend two consecutive academic years (September 1-July 1) at Princeton University and formal teaching is expected. An $80,000 a year stipend is provided. / Due September 13, 2022
- Fulbright Distinguished Chairs Program: The Fulbright Distinguished Chairs Program comprises approximately forty distinguished lecturing, distinguished research, and distinguished lecturing/research awards ranging from three to 12 months. Awards in the Fulbright Distinguished Chairs Program are viewed as among the most prestigious appointments in the Fulbright Scholar Program. Candidates should be eminent scholars and have a significant publication and teaching record. / Due September 15, 2022
- Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program: The Core Fulbright Scholar Program offers over 500 teaching, research, or combination teaching/research awards of 2-12 months in over 125 countries. Opportunities are available for college and university faculty and administrators as well as for professionals, artists, journalists, scientists, lawyers, independent scholars, and many others. In addition to several new program models designed to meet the changing needs of U.S. academics and professionals, Fulbright is offering more opportunities for flexible, multi-country grants. Only U.S. citizens are eligible to apply. / Due September 15, 2022
- Fulbright Public Policy Fellowship: The Fulbright Public Policy Fellowship allows fellows to serve in professional placements in foreign government ministries or institutions and gain hands-on public sector experience while carrying out an academic research/study project. Fellows serve in a capacity similar to a “special assistant” for a senior-level official. Proficiency in the host country’s language of government is required. Successful Fulbright Public Policy Fellowship candidates will include early to mid-career entrepreneurial and self-starter professionals with a graduate degree in a public-policy related field (e.g., JD, MPA, MPH). Fellowships are available in three world regions: Africa (Botswana, Ghana, and Rwanda); Western Hemisphere (Colombia and Peru); and East Asia and the Pacific (Cambodia, Fiji, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam). / Due September 15, 2022
- International Chinese Teacher Scholarship: This scholarship encourages students and Chinese language teachers all over the world to study Chinese or conduct research regarding the Chinese language and culture in China. Scholarships are offered for a Master’s Degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (MTCSOL), and one academic year or one academic semester study in China. Open to non-Chinese citizens age 18-35 (MTCSOL applicants age 18-45). Language requirements apply. Provides full tuition and a monthly stipend. / Due September 15, 2022
- Fulbright-Saastamoinen Foundation Award in Health and Environmental Sciences (Fulbright Finland): The Fulbright-Saastamoinen Foundation Grant in Health and Environmental Sciences is available for lecturing and research visits of 5-9 months at the University of Eastern Finland, Kuopio. Disciplines include Medical Sciences, Global Health, Pharmacy, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Health, Environmental and Medical Physics, Biosciences, and Nursing Science. It is offered for a period of 5-9 months, starting in either September or January. The award includes a stipend and free housing, arranged and paid for by the University of Eastern Finland. The rank of full or associate professor with a Ph.D. (or other terminal degrees such as MFA, JD, or MD) is required. / Due September 15, 2022
- Fulbright-Masaryk University Distinguished Scholar (Czech Republic): Based at Masaryk University, Fellows will teach a maximum of two courses at advanced undergraduate and graduate levels, consult on curriculum development and discuss topics of specialization with faculty, and conduct research in the area of specialization. Projects are sought in all disciplines. The award is open in all the fields offered at Masaryk University. Award allowances are $6,000 per month with an estimated travel and relocation allowance of $1,500. Host institutions can provide assistance with locating housing and schooling for dependents. / Due September 15, 2022
- Fulbright-Carlos Rico Award for North American Studies: The intent of this award is to enhance collaboration among a community of scholars working on issues of relevance to the special trilateral relationship between the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. Projects across a broad range of disciplines are welcome. Proposals should reflect topics that would benefit from a trilateral perspective and clearly demonstrate a need to spend time in both Mexico and Canada. Grantees may teach, engage in collaborative research, or combine both activities. Grants are from 4 months to an academic year, and time should be distributed equally between Canada and Mexico. Ph.D. (or other terminal degrees) required. / Due September 15, 2022
- Fulbright Global Scholar Award: The Fulbright Global Scholar Award allows U.S. academics and professionals to engage in multi-country, trans-regional projects. As a truly worldwide award, U.S. scholars will be able to propose research or combined teaching/research activity in two to three countries with flexible schedule options; trips can be conducted within one academic year or spread over two consecutive years. Projects are welcome in all disciplines, as well as those with an interdisciplinary focus. The minimum length of the total grant is 3 months and the maximum is 6 months. / Due September 15, 2022
- Fulbright-Schuman Postdoctoral Award at the European University Institute (Florence, Italy): The scholar selected for the Fulbright-Schuman Postdoctoral Award is expected to conduct their own research through an affiliation with one of the EUI Departments (Economics, History and Civilization, Law, Political and Social Sciences) or the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies, which is devoted to interdisciplinary, comparative, and policy research on the major issues on the European integration process. The aim of this program is to provide opportunities for Americans and Europeans to study and conduct research on the transatlantic relationship. Award length is 3 months – 9 months, and includes a stipend and relocation allowance. / Due September 15, 2022
- Fulbright-Schuman Innovation Award: The Fulbright-Schuman Innovation Award is designed to support research at the intersection of policy and technology that can improve the transatlantic understanding of issues at the heart of the US-EU relationship. Candidates are welcome to submit applications affiliated with any appropriate institutions, including European higher education institutions, governments, non-profit organizations, and think tanks. Grants will be considered for a minimum of three months and a maximum of nine months. Applicants to the Fulbright-Schuman Innovation Award may come from any field of study but should make the case for the innovative nature of their research. / Due September 15, 2022
- Fulbright-Kalam Climate Fellowship: The Fulbright-Kalam Climate Fellowship seeks to build long-term capacity in the United States and India by engaging scientific and technical research scholars from both countries related to climate research and education. The fellowship has 2 different options for Indian citizens to work with U.S. institutions, 1 option for current Ph.D. students and another for postdoctoral scholars; the doctoral fellowship is for 6 to 9 months and the postdoctoral fellowship is for 8 to 12 months. Both fellowships include J-1 visa support, round-trip air travel between India and the U.S., a monthly stipend, and additional professional allowances. / Due September 15, 2022
- Merlyn Climate Grants: Merlyn Climate Grants are offering grants for individuals between the age of 13 and 30 who have a clear vision for impacting climate and environmental justice, support for science, and a free press. Applicants may request from $500 to $3,000 and be based in New England or New York. Grants underwrite activities that have a positive impact on the fellow’s community – such as carbon footprint reduction, community action, artistic and dramatic productions, organizing, training, and outreach. / Due September 15, 2022
- Colorado State University Fully Funded PhD in Chemical and Biological Engineering: Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO offers a fully funded PhD program in Chemical and Biological Engineering. Students have full access to state-of-the-art research laboratories and are encouraged to collaborate with the Colleges of Engineering, Natural Sciences, and the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. There are 5 main focuses for the Ph.D.: polymer science, biological engineering, mathematical modeling, environmental engineering, and transport phenomena. After selecting one of the above Ph.D. students will work closely with a research advisor for the remainder of their degree. A full tuition waiver plus a living stipend is provided to accepted applicants. / Due September 15, 2022
- University of Michigan Society of Fellows: The University of Michigan invites recent PhD graduates in the arts, sciences, and humanities to become resident postdoctoral scholars in the Society of Fellows. The Society of Fellows is an interdisciplinary intellectual community in which the postdoctoral fellows are joined by senior fellows to share their work in progress. Fellowship appointments are for 3 years and include an annual stipend of $60,000 plus benefits including health insurance and additional research funding. International applicants are welcome and underrepresented backgrounds are encouraged to apply. / Due September 15, 2022
- Sloan Research Fellowships: The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation is awarding grants over a two-year term for any expense supportive of research. Awards are given to 126 researchers in recognition of distinguished performance. The foundation seeks to stimulate fundamental research by early-career scientists and scholars of outstanding promise. Candidates must hold a tenure track at a college or university and hold a Ph.D. (or equivalent) in chemistry, computer science, economics, mathematics, neuroscience, earth system science, physics, or a related field. Fellows receive a grant of $75,000. / Due September 15, 2022
- Fully Funded MA in Human Rights and Democracy in South East Europe: The Global Campus South East Europe – European Regional Master’s Programme in Democracy and Human Rights in southeast Europe is a one-year, full-time, interdisciplinary program. Its aim is the development of democracy and human rights in southeast Europe. It is a joint initiative by the University of Sarajevo and the University of Bologna. The Programme awards students with 60 ECTS and a double-degree diploma from both founding universities (UNSA and UNIBO). 30 students from target countries will receive full scholarships covering tuition fees, and living and travel expenses. / Due September 15, 2022
- Carnegie Mellon University Fully Funded PhD in Mechanical Engineering: Carnegie Mellon University, based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania offers a fully funded PhD in Mechanical Engineering. Their collaborative faculty are investigating a diverse range of research areas. Students typically complete the Ph.D. degree requirements in three to five years. The majority of full-time Ph.D. students accepted through the standard application process receive fellowships that cover full tuition, the technology fee, and a stipend for living expenses for up to five years, as long as sufficient progress is made toward degree completion. These awards are sufficient to cover all expenses for the year (including summers). / Due September 15, 2022
- Carnegie Mellon University Fully Funded PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering: Carnegie Mellon University, based in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania offers a fully funded PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering. Doctoral candidates develop an individualized program of study in one of our three major focus areas: Advanced Infrastructure Systems (AIS); Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, and Science (EESS); Mechanics, Materials, and Computing (MMC). Many of the graduate students conducting research in the department receive financial aid in the form of research assistantships that cover tuition, technology fees, and a stipend for living expenses for the calendar year (including Summer) for up to five years, as long as sufficient progress is made toward degree completion. / Due September 15, 2022
- University of Utah Fully Funded PhD in Geology, Geophysics, or Geological Engineering: The University of Utah, based in Salt Lake City, UT offers a fully funed PhD in Geology, Geophysics, or Geological Engineering. The department will consider applicants to all programs who have previously completed either a bachelor’s or master’s degree in geoscience or a related field. Within the department, there are many areas of research specialization. Qualified full-time graduate students are eligible for financial aid in the form of Teaching Assistantships, Research Assistantships, and Graduate Fellowships. - Rainbow Scholarship for LGBTQI Students: The Rainbow Scholarship will be award LGBTQI up to $10,000 for a 4-week or longer study abroad program anywhere in the world. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents currently enrolled as an undergraduate at a college or university in the U.S. This program is made possible by the generous support of a group of international education professionals who are committed to advocating on behalf of LGBTQI students. / Due September 15, 2022
- Memorial University Fully Funded Master of Education: Memorial University, based in Canada and offers a fully-funded Master of Education. The MEd program is designed to prepare candidates to function in a variety of roles in informal and formal post-secondary learning environments. - University of Arkansas Fully Funded Master’s in Chemical Engineering: The University of Arkansas, based in Fayetteville, AR offers a fully-funded Master’s in Chemical Engineering. The MSChE program prepares students for advanced roles in the profession through a combination of planned coursework and research activities so that graduates are equipped to address present and future challenges. - Carnegie Mellon University Fully Funded Master’s in Civil and Environmental Engineering: Carnegie Mellon University, based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania offers a fully funded Master’s in Civil and Environmental Engineering. The program allows students to develop deep knowledge in a specialized concentration of one of their three focus areas while rounding out their education with challenging interdisciplinary coursework. All MS program applicants are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships that may cover anywhere from 20-100% of the overall tuition cost. A majority of their MS applicants are offered some amount of merit scholarship. - University of Texas at San Antonio Fully Funded Master’s in Civil Engineering: The University of Texas at San Antonio offers a fully funded master’s in Civil Engineering. The Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering (MSCE) is designed to provide civil engineering professionals with the opportunity to prepare for careers concerned with the critical problems of a multifaceted society. Civil engineering education and research activities focus on projects that are typically large and costly, with potentially profound environmental, social, and financial impacts. Research Assistantships and Teaching Assistantships are available on a competitive basis to full-time students carrying out research. - University of Kentucky Fully Funded Master’s in Communication: The University of Kentucky, based in Lexington, KY offers a fully-funded master’s in Communication. The MA in Communication degree at the University of Kentucky requires all students to complete 30 credit hours. The Graduate Program in Communication offers several opportunities to fund your education. Most funding is provided in the form of teaching assistantships, although research positions are occasionally available. Assistantships are offered for four semesters of master’s work provided the student is making sustained progress toward the degree. / Due September 15, 2022
- McGill University Fully Funded Master’s in Mathematics and Statistics: McGill University, based in Canada offers a fully-funded master’s in Mathematics and Statistics. As a graduate student, you will have an extensive curriculum to choose from, with both fundamental and advanced courses in every branch of mathematics. The M.Sc. thesis program can be completed in 3 academic terms over 16 months. All graduate students in Mathematics and Statistics who are accepted into our master’s or doctoral programs receive funding. - Smith Fellows Postdoctoral Fellowship in Conservation Research: The purpose of the Smith Conservation Research Fellowship is to create opportunities for leading conservation scientists to strengthen their skills through two years of applied post-doctoral research, supplemented by training programs, peer networking, and field learning experiences. Fellows build productive partnerships with conservation practitioners while contributing and communicating scientific knowledge about problems in conservation. The program develops future world leaders in conservation research and application through training and mentorship. An annual salary of $55K is provided as well as additional funding for research and travel. / Due September 16, 2022
- Florida State University Fully Funded Masters in Geography: Florida State University, based in Tallahassee FL offers a fully funded masters in Geography. The Masters in Geography program has two tracks: The thesis track for students interested in conducting independent research; and the non-thesis track (for students interested in advancing their expertise without conducting independent research. Full financial support is available for qualified students. Current funding is $18,000 per year for 2 years, plus a 9-hour tuition waiver. Fully funded students are allowed up to 10 hours per week of outside employment. Funding is conditional on good scholastic standing and available Departmental resources. / Due September 16, 2022
