The USA Triathlon (USAT) Finance internship is a unique and exciting opportunity to learn the dynamics of a National Governing Body (NGB), and be a part of the Olympic movement. The Finance intern works directly with the Finance department. During the semester, the intern will develop and apply skills unique to finance in the Non-Profit sporting sector. They will have hands on experience with the daily function of the finance department, have unique professional development opportunities not offered anywhere else, as well as have an impact in the world of Olympic sporting.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Learn the daily functions of the finance department including: a. Post Race: check in, file creation, & reconciling of events b. Accounts Payable: check processing, invoice filing & approval steps c. Accounts Receivable support & data entry 2 2. Be a part of a dynamic team that is essential to the growth of the organization 3. Build crystal reports 4. Account reconciling for EOM reporting
Qualifications:
• Educational Requirements: Enrolled in a Bachelor or Master’s degree program. • Excellent communication, organization, problem solving & critical thinking • Detail oriented • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point & Outlook. • Passion for sport and the Ideals of the Olympic Movement • Familiarity with Triathlon preferred but not required. • Demonstrated ability to work in fast paced multidisciplinary team environment. • Ability to travel, occasionally work long hours and handle some light physical activity • Must be eligible to work in the USA.
