We are reaching out to you today about an exciting opportunity! City Year, an education-focused nonprofit organization in 28 cities across the US, is currently hiring AmeriCorps members to serve during the 2018-2019 school year.
City Year AmeriCorps members serve full-time in high-need schools to help students build social-emotional and academic skills. City Year trains our AmeriCorps members to be leaders in a challenging role to support students where they are, not as teachers, but as near-peer student success coaches.
Many City Year alumni leverage the experience to help more narrowly define their career path while growing as a leader. The position helps future community leaders grow their understanding of the barriers and access to quality education for students in the communities City Year supports.
The benefits of serving a year with City Year include:
- A bi-weekly living stipend ($1,260 a month)
- $5,920 Segal Education Award
- Exclusive scholarships to more than 110 leading colleges and universities for graduate and undergraduate programs
- 11-months of professional development
- And more!
We encourage you to consider this opportunity or refer a friend who has the interest, passion and skills to help students reach their full potential.
