Seniors and Alumni looking for a job- This is a really great opportunity if you want to teach!

CC Science community!

My name is Kat Baker and I’m a CC Physics grad from the class of 2003. I teach Physics at Fountain Valley School which is a private boarding school at the South end of Colorado Springs (just Southeast of the airport). We’re looking for 2 science teachers for next year (one replacing someone retiring after 32 years and one is a new position since the physics program has grown so much).

We’d love for any of CC’s graduating seniors who are interested in teaching to apply. You don’t need a teaching certificate or a Master’s degree. Here is the official posting but I’d also add that in addition to the posted salary range, free housing is potentially available (I got into an on-campus house in my 3rd year, but we have more houses available now). Particularly in this housing market, this is a HUGE benefit that isn’t mentioned in the listing.

Why should you teach at Fountain Valley?

*Our faculty are amazingly supportive and friendly

*Our students are motivated, kind, and excited to learn.

*We’ve been called the high school version of CC

*Beautiful 1100 acre campus, largest high school climbing wall in Colorado, mt. biking paths, brand new gym

*Classroom supplies and professional development are very well funded

*Interim trips – one-week experiential education trip in March, I’ve taken students to Vancouver, Tokyo, and was supposed to do London Theater when Covid hit. We’re back to regular trips including international trips for next year.

Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions.
