With a focus on understanding internationally important infectious diseases (mycobacterial diseases, vector-transmitted viral diseases, prion diseases, COVID/SARS-CoV-2), the Colorado State University Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Pathology is home to world-renowned scientists and leaders in human and veterinary infectious disease research. Students have the opportunity to learn from working research faculty with specialties in bacteriology, mycobacterial diseases, prion biology, vector-borne infectious diseases, virology, and computational biology.
