This is a fast-paced position that is designed to transition into a Store Manager role in as little as ten months! You will act as an ambassador for our customers and will focus heavily on engaging customers and driving World Class Customer Service at our stores. We will provide you the operational and leadership training you will need to be successful as a Store Manager.
You will start in our Training Center learning about our processes and what we are all about here at Natural Grocers. From there, you will make your way to one of our fabulous stores where our staff waits to welcome you and support your on the job training and learning in the ways of Natural Grocers. You will spend several months at the store and will have time to manage each department- Produce, Dairy/Frozen, Grocery, Vitamins, Bulk, Receiving, and Front End. In addition, you’ll learn how our Store Managers do just that, manage our stores!
From driving sales, leading staff, managing operations, and every other critical manager process, you’ll get the chance to learn it all and by the time you graduate the program you will confidently step in as the leader at one of our stores! Most importantly, you are going to learn why we are different and how YOU are going to continue to set Natural Grocers apart from the rest!

Leadership
Exemplify World Class customer service
Engage our customers by focusing on customer experience, building loyalty, and overall guest satisfaction
Lead ambassador tables, manage our N-Power customer sign-ups
Drive communication and education around our company differentiators (EAP, NHC’s, Product Standards and upcoming events, demos, hotline deals,
Motivate and inspire team members and build strong teams
Oversee staff and help to resolve any customer or employee issues
Lead staff meetings and staff huddles
Engage our teams and customers in a way that supports our values and beliefs
Training
Attend all required training courses and successfully pass all assessments associated with this program
Partner with Store Manager to develop staff
Operations
Effectively manage inventory and reinforce quality standards
Drive sales and meet store financial goals
Communicate and drive all company initiatives
Partner with HR Business Partner and Store Manager to remain in compliance with company policies
Includes documented disciplinary action, managing drug tests completing Feedback Forms, managing promotions, and ensuring proper processes are adhered to
Ensure safety guidelines are followed at all times
Understand and practice proper procedures when dealing with work-related injuries
Learn and practice administrative tasks, to include:
Monthly manager reports
Process employee payroll
Utilizing HRIS and ATS to complete required tasks
Scheduling to labor matrix / PTO management
Manage operations grid
Recruit, screen and hire employees
Meet operational standards of all departments
