Student-Founded Nonprofit Changes Corporate Policy

Patrick Jurney ’17 delivers food as part of Colorado Springs Food Rescue’s effort to help meet hunger needs in the community while reducing the amount of food wasted on campus. A student examines the vibrant work of Katie Patterson ’14, whose studio art thesis show is among the first events in the newly renovated 802 space, named for its address at 802 N. Nevada Ave. The building, collaboratively run by Student Life and the Art Department, serves as a student activity space, providing an intersection between the curricular and co-curricular. 802 allows for greater flexibility in scheduling creative academic arts events and senior capstone experiences such as art exhibitions, film screenings, poetry slams, spoken word events, drama and dance performances, music recitals, receptions, lectures, and readings.
